Biographical summary of video clip

In 1998, Martn Imhof decided to start a punk band influenced by the sounds of the California punk, very popular bands like NOFX, The Offspring, Green Day, among others. With him in the drums, his sister Mara Imhof took the guitar. The band was complete when his friend Peruvian Gustavo Ramn joined in the lead guitar, Jean Carlo Caldern on vocals y Gilbert Lugo on bass.

Their first years passed in the underground scene of Caracas. Their sound and their songs were really new for the bands in the country at that time, gradually adding fans and good critics. The original lineup would last several years, until 2005, when Gilbert Lugo and Nelson Porras left the band being replaced by Ricardo Sosa and Leonardo Borges.

By this time, the band had recorded several video clips (El Nio-The Kid-, Perfecto-Perfect- and Cunto me Cuesta?-How much will it Cost?-) and had interviews and appearances for various magazines, TV and radio.

With its new lineup they recorded the video for the song Por Qu?-Why?-, which was highly acclaimed by fans, turning the song into one of the most popular of them.

Their first album, Tarde o Temprano, were released in that year. The title refers the fact that it took 7 years to come up. The band's sound also changed, moving to a much happier punk playing sentimental themes like love and relationships.

Since this time the band has a lot of detractors, criticizing their music as they thought that was too light and commercial, and therefore did not identify the ideology of punk. One year later, in 2006, the band would suffer another departure when JC Calderon left the band. Ricardo Sosa, lead guitar at that time, also took the vocals.

For two years they did several shows, among which there were two being openers of foreign bands like the Mexicans Panda and Allison, and record what would become their second studio album, lo que escribo sobre ti, released in 2007. Again, the band has a change in his music, going from punk to the alternative rock. Also in this year they would give their first performances abroad, visiting Colombia, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina and represented Venezuela in the reality show on MTV Latinamerica, Rally MTV.

In 2009, Ricardo Sosa and Leo Borges left the band. Mara and Martn, the only members of the original lineup that started in 1998, managed to complete the current line-up with Ivan Infante on guitar and Marco Ramos on bass and vocals. In a statement on its official facebook profile they announced their plans to launch a new video clip and a new album for 2010.

They opened a concert in Caracas on July 18 (2011) for pop-punk singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne, during her "The Black Star Tour".

Before Eurovision of video clip

Selecia Naional 2010Selecia Naional 2010 was the national final format developed by TVR in order to select Romania's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2010. The winner of the national final was determine through the 50/50 combination of votes from regional jury panels and a public televote.

The competition was televised on TVR1 and TVRi. Competing entriesTVR opened a submission period for artists and composers to submit their entries between 9 December 2009 and 14 January 2010. A fifteen-member expert committee reviewed the received submissions between 25 and 27 January 2010.

The broadcaster received 117 submissions after the submission deadline passed, of which 111 were eligible for consideration. Originally, between twelve and fifteen entries were to be selected, however sixteen entries were ultimately selected for the national final due to a tie for the lowest placings as ranked by the committee. For the 2010 contest, the committee reserved the right to change the initial performer of each selected entry.

Should this be the case, composers would have between 28 January and 5 February 2010 to submit the final version of their songs with the new performers. The competing entries were announced on 25 January 2010. Among the competing artists was Luminia Anghel, who previously represented Romania in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005.

TVR hosted a presentation show on 6 February 2010 where the competing artists performed their songs live for the public. Presentation videos for each entry were also recorded between 6 and 19 February 2010 and released between 20 February and 5 March 2010. FinalThe national final took place on 6 March 2010 at the Globus Circus Arena in Bucharest, hosted by Horia Brenciu and Valentina Pelinel.

Sixteen songs competed and the winner, "Playing with Fire" performed by Paula Seling & Ovi, was determined by the 50/50 combination of the votes from regional jury panels and public televoting. Four regional juries in Craiova, Cluj, Iai and Timioara (each of five members) awarded one set of 18, 10 and 12 points to their preferred songs, with a fifth regional jury in Bucharest (of eleven members) awarding another set of 18, 10 and 12 points. The summation of the two jury points had produced an overall ranking that was converted to 18, 10 and 12 points.

The public had the opportunity to submit their vote during a 30-minute voting window where only one free vote could be cast per phone number. The top ten songs as ranked by the televote received 18, 10 and 12 points. Calls for disqualificationShortly after "Playing with Fire" won Selecia Naional 2010 there were reports that the song, performed by Paula Seling and Ovi, aka Ovi Cernueanu, was registered in Norway as being co-written by a Norwegian composer, Simen Eriksrud, which would have broken TVR regulations as participants and songwriters must all be Romanian.

This was followed by calls for the song to be disqualified and a new national final held to select another song. Eriksrud, also Ovi's producer, confirmed that Ovi was the only songwriter, with Eriksrud and Ovi only sharing publishing rights as his producer. Marina Almasan, the Romanian Head of Delegation, confirmed on 11 March that Ovi was the only writer of the song, after consulting with TONO, the Norwegian copyright association, Ovi's record label, and the Romanian Copyright Office.

PromotionPaula and Ovi are currently taking part in an extensive European promotion tour before Eurovision, promoting their Eurovision song "Playing with Fire", in March and April 2010. The duo's first locations were Chiinu, Moldova, where they appeared on the Muz-TV music channel, going on then to Belgium, Portugal and Greece. In between promotion the duo shot scenes in the medieval city of Alba Iulia in Romania and in Vienna, Austria for the music video of "Playing with Fire".

The video employs 3D technology, the first such use of the technology in a Eurovision music video. The video was released in April 2010. The duo's promotion continued into April, however due to the 2010 eruptions of the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajkull, Ovi was unable to leave his home in Norway after the closure of Norwegian airspace due to volcanic ash in the aftermath of the eruptions.

As such, Paula toured by herself, giving TV appearances in Bulgaria and Macedonia. With the reopening of Norwegian airspace the duo were reunited in Turkey, where they appeared on the Beyaz Show talk show as well as a special Eurovision show, Eurovision 2010'a dogru (Towards Eurovision 2010) on TRT Mzik, appearing alongside the Greek entry Giorgos Alkaios and Friends. The duo will also perform together at the UK Eurovision Preview Party in London on 2 May.

Syrian Civil War of video clip

Hassoun is considered to be a firm supporter of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. In a public address which aired on Syrian News Channel and was posted on the Internet on 9 October 2011 (as translated by MEMRI), Hassoun threatened to activate suicide bombers in Europe and the United States if Syria was attacked by external powers, stating that: "The moment the first missile hits Syria, all the sons and daughters of Lebanon and Syria will set out to become martyrdom-seekers in Europe and on Palestinian soil. I say to all of Europe and to the US: We will prepare martyrdom-seekers who are already among you, if you bomb Syria or Lebanon.

" Hassoun also warned: "Do not think that the people who will commit martyrdom in France, Britain, or the US, will be Arabs and Muslims. They will be a new Jules Jammal or a new Muhammad Al-Durrah. They will all be like the righteous of the past.

" Following the broadcasting of this speech, the Foundation for Middle East Peace withdrew an invitation to Hassoun to speak at the "Coexistence and Dialogue" conference. Foundation president Philip Wilcox stated that "We were not aware of his speech, which was at odds with the theme of the event." In 2016, it was reported by Amnesty International that Hassoun was one of three men who had been deputised by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad with the power to sign execution warrants for prisoners at Sednaya prison.

Der Spiegel interviewHassoun was interviewed by the German magazine Der Spiegel on 8 November 2011, saying that some of the protestors in Syria were armed Islamist rebels backed by Saudi Arabia. He talked about religion and politics in Syria during the revolution: But then imams who had come from abroad, especially Saudi Arabia, stirred things up with their inflammatory speeches. The news channels stationed in the Gulf states, Al-Jazeera and Al-Arabiya, helped them by falsely claiming that the clergy was on the side of the anti-Assad protesters.

", "And what has really improved in Egypt? Should we welcome the rise of Islamist parties? I believe in the strict separation of church and state.

" "How many, 50 or 55? We're talking about an army of tens of thousands of men. But some of the radical Sunni imams from Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region are stirring people up, and unfortunately they are finding a few Sunni imams in my country who sympathize with them.

For instance, they have pronounced a fatwa against me, because in their view I am betraying religion and am too moderate. But I'm not the only one on their hit list." "They set their sights on my innocent son Saria, a 22-year-old student who was always friendly to everyone, who was studying International Relations and did not want to make religion his profession.

So much for the kin liability you've criticized elsewhere! Oh, if only the four killers had killed me instead.", "There are close ties between the Saudi royal family and the American White House.

The Americans are often on the side of the oppressors. I am always on the side of the oppressed." "I see myself as the grand mufti of all 23 million Syrians, not just Muslims, but also Christians and even atheists.

I am a man of dialogue. Who knows, maybe an agnostic will convince me with better arguments one day, and I'll become a non-believer. And if I'm enthusiastic about the opposition's political platform, I also might change sides.

RT interviewHassoun was interviewed by Sophie Shevardnadze on RT (TV network) on 13 November 2015.
