The video is split vertically into thirds, in front of a living room, a kitchen, and a bedroom entrance. Throughout the video, either one member, the entire band, the zentai actor, or various objects are shown within each third. The band members can also be seen holding the various objects with varying facial expressions, within each third.

The zentai actor then dances and mimes in front of, and behind, each band member.

On January 4, 2020, the combined 6th and 7th issue of the 2020 release of Weekly Shnen Jump announced that Kana-Boon would be performing the second opening theme for the fourth season My Hero Academia.

The single was released on March 4, 2020, with a standard edition and an anime limited edition release. The anime limited edition release contains additional tracks, and a bonus DVD with the creditless version of the respective opening theme of My Hero Academia. The single was released on the same day as Kana-Boon's "best of" album Kana-Boon The Best.

The song is the first song performed by Kana-Boon after the departure of bassist Yuuma Meshida in 2019. As a result, lead vocalist and guitarist Maguro Taniguchi also performs the bass. The song "Starmarker" features Fujifabric keyboardist Daisuke Kanazawa as a guest musician.

The single reached number 29 on the Oricon charts, and reached 46 on the Japan Hot 100, and 7 Japan Hot Animation charts.

Thomas Fulton of DVD Video

Thomas Fulton (September 18, 1949 - August 4, 1994), was an American conductor. Noted primarily for his work in opera, Fulton debuted at the Metropolitan Opera of New York City in 1979 and remained with the company until his death. He conducted 192 performances at the Met of over 20 operas in the Italian, French and German repertoires.

A 1982 performance he conducted of Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel was telecast on PBS and remains available on video as a DVD. Fulton was also associated with Orchestre National de France, and the Paris Opera among other companies in France and Germany. He was on staff as a conductor with the Ravinia Festival, the Opera Company of Boston, and the San Francisco Opera.

According to his obituary, Fulton died from kidney failure while vacationing in Milan. He was 44 years old.

The single is used as the theme song to the drama Bartender starring Arashi member Masaki Aiba. It was released in two editions: a regular edition containing two bonus tracks and instrumental versions of all the songs released in the single, and a limited edition containing a bonus track along with a DVD with a music video of the single. On the issue dated 7 March 2012, "Lotus" debuted at number one on Japan's Oricon Singles Chart, selling 541,000 copies in its first week.

According to Oricon, the single was ranked as the sixth-best-selling single in Japan for the year 2011.
